Applications can be submitted from 15 September 2010

The European Society for Clinical Investigation is able to invite applications for grants of up to EUR 800 each towards the cost of attending the Society's Annual Scientific meeting. Funds are provided by ESCI. Guidelines and rules are listed below and should be read carefully before completing the application form.

Eligibility

Depending on the total amount of funding available and the number of applicants, preference will be given to:

  1. Young investigators (under 36 years)
  2. ESCI members who are the first author or presenting author of an accepted paper

Nature of support

Council will consider applications for financial support towards:

  1. travel expenses
  2. accommodation and subsistence allowance
  3. registration

Travel

Applicants are expected to travel by the most economical means available. Where practicable this might include sharing car expenses. Only if other means of travel are unsuitable, air fares will be considered. Applicants are expected to take advantage of discount fares, charter arrangements etc. where available.

Accommodation and subsistence

Depending on the venue of the meeting, support will usually be considered only for the less expensive hotels, halls of residence etc.

Allocation of funds

Council's decision about allocation of funds will be final. It will be left to their discretion to decide whether individuals will receive partial or total support. In order to spread the benefit to as many applicants as possible, requests for partial support will be more likely to succeed.
